How to play

Riftboundle picks one secret card every day at 00:00 UTC. Your job is to identify it with as few guesses as possible.

01. The core loop

Open the Daily Challenge. Type any valid Riftbound card name and submit the guess. The game compares it against the secret card across six attributes — Domain, Type, Rarity, Energy, Power and Might — and shows you, column by column, how close you are. Use those clues to refine your next guess.

There is no hard limit on guesses, but every extra guess lowers your score for the day. The best players solve the puzzle in three to five attempts.

02. How the clues work

Each guess returns a row of six tiles.

  • Green — the attribute exactly matches the secret card. Lock it in and keep it on every guess that follows.
  • Orange — a partial match on Domain: some of the card's runes are right, some are not.
  • Red — a miss. On the numeric attributes an arrow is added: ↑ means the secret card has a higher value, ↓ means lower.

Type and Rarity either match or they don't — no partial credit, no hints. That makes the deduction clean: a green Domain instantly narrows the pool by 70% or more.

03. Scoring

Your daily score is based primarily on the number of guesses needed, with smaller bonuses for speed and streak length.

  • Solving in one guess is extremely rare and grants the maximum base score.
  • Each additional guess reduces the base score on a curve.
  • A speed bonus rewards solving quickly after the first guess.
  • A streak multiplier adds a small bonus for every consecutive day solved.

Leaving the puzzle unsolved does not count against your streak until midnight UTC. If you have not submitted a correct guess by the reset, your streak returns to zero.

04. Streaks

A streak is the number of consecutive days you have solved the daily puzzle. Streaks reward consistency over one-off perfect scores — you need at least one solved puzzle per UTC day.

05. The leaderboard

The leaderboard ranks the day's best players by score, with solve time as the tiebreaker. Only signed-in players appear. The board resets every day at 00:00 UTC, along with the new puzzle.

06. Tips to guess faster

Opening guesses matter more than you think. A strong opener covers a broad range of attributes: try a mid-cost Unit from a common Domain to maximise what a single guess tells you.

  • Start broad. Use the first guess to eliminate whole Domains and rarities, not to land a lucky hit.
  • Follow the arrows. On a numeric miss, binary-search toward the range instead of guessing at random.
  • Lock green columns. Once Domain or Type is green, keep it fixed on every guess that follows.
  • Don't panic on rare cards. If the Rarity is Legendary the pool is small — a few targeted guesses will close it.

07. Fair play

The puzzle is the same for every player in the world on a given day. Don't post spoilers before the daily reset — part of the fun is solving it fresh. Automated solvers, scripts and shared answers go against the spirit of the game and may result in leaderboard removal.
